How High Is Up?

The Intelligent Design Balloon Appears To Be Losing Altitude
.
.
The proponents of Intelligent Design Theory have met unexpected resistance from within their own Christian Collegiate ranks. Between the vocal mobs of Creationists promoting Intelligent Design and the Atheists backing Darwinian Evolution is a vast ocean of people who apparently believe that science, in general, and Evolution, in particular, are God's methods of creating. Big oversight. Academics at Penecostal, Evangelical, and Baptist Colleges admit that Intelligent Design has not made the grade as a teachable subject. Not really a Theory. No papers submitted to the professional literature for peer review and publication. No proposals for research to establish supporting proofs. No intelligent design was invested in the proposition of Intelligent Design. Intellectual sloth. Sing the first and last verses and whoop it up ... it's not raining inside tonight!

Glad to hear it! It seems incredible that there have been no reviews, etc. - I recently checked out a book called....well, I don't remember the title but I have it here at home - the last word of the Title is "truth" - and the female author insists that christians need to "get behind" Intelligent Design. I will show it to you when I see you. You'd think "they'd" make a bit more effort, wouldn't you.

the key words there would be "get behind"...

Intelligent Design is just too late. If the idea had appeared around Darwin's time it would probably have collected support by both the religious and the evolutionists. There is just too much science between then and now.

Not to say ID might not end up having a following. I would expect the idea to find root in the fundamentalist Christian and Islamic camps.

Unfortunately both camps are rather large and important politically and have a big voice (or a big whip)...

The second time round might be a harder fight.
